The Mikumi day trip safari is the kind of tour perfect for guests with a very limited time to spend on safari. Although it might seem that the tour is very short, maybe even rushed, you still have an excellent chance to see and enjoy the beauty of African wildlife. This trip typically starts very early in the morning, between 3:00am and 4:00am, from Dar es Salaam and ends around 9:00pm. Elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, giraffes, hippos and crocs, and many more can be seen in a few hours.
The client is to be picked up at a hotel in Dar es Salaam at 3:00am or 4:00am when the five-hour drive towards Mikumi National Park starts. Arrival at the gate and check-in is at around 8:00am. First, it is time for breakfast at Mikumi Tanapa Bandas, and then we proceed with the game drive. The game drive lasts five hours, until lunchtime at around 1:00pm. After lunch, you will drive one circuit before checking out and starting the return journey to Dar es Salaam. The way back will take a bit longer because of traffic as we approach Dar es Salaam. We will drop you off between 8:00pm and 9:00pm at your hotel, which marks the end of the tour.
